Now this is an alley with a darn respectable mezzanine. The pretty blue molded swingy chairs, the sparkling formica...it all says professional bowlers and fingerless gloves to me. I also hold a special appreciation for the 1968 era Don Quixote Spanish decorating theme evident in the signs, and yes even the spacious bar, with the pointy awninged pit-of-hell fireplace. Sigh. Please, just look at that picture of me over there. Just look. Do I look happy? Yes, I think that might be a look of evil bliss and why? Why? Because this alley is host to the "Graveyard Special": not only are they open 24 hours, they draw you like sirens, little nightlings, with promises of $1.75 games from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. weekdays.

Need more inspiration? Take a moment and visit the hall of fame flanking the bar entrance. I plan to wear a blue satin corset and a black net veil when they take my portrait, but alas, it will have to wait until I again descend upon Daly City like a chilling evening mist, as they apparently did not yet muster up the gumption to request my visage. Really, Serra Bowl staff, I don't bite. Unless you're type O.
